Westwood College, owned by Alta Colleges Inc., is a United States for profit institution of higher learning with 17 campus locations in six states and on-line learning options.

Westwood is accredited by national organizations including the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology(ACCSC) and the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).  Westwood offers career focused diploma, associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs through its Schools of Business, Design, Justice, Technology, Healthcare, and Industrial Services.

Westwood  is currently undergoing a lawsuit. They have not been properly accredited and they have various student complaints from all of their U.S. Campuses. The main issues with Westwood are the misrepresentations and omissions concerning tuition costs, accreditation status, transferability of credits, job placement opportunities, salary expectations, and the role and qualifications of admissions representatives.

Westwood College have been under scrutiny for these allegations. Recently, the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (“ACCSC”) placed Westwood’s Denver North campus on probation. Westwood College was a candidate for regional accreditation by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools from October 2007 until they withdrew their candidacy on November 1, 2010.
